Lake Pleasant is not far from the city, but offers excellent views, clear waters, and a wide variety of fish species from Crappie to Sunfish. It’s one of the most popular lakes in Arizona and boasts beautiful views all around.
Known for its scenic surroundings and tall desert cliffs, Canyon Lake is just under an hour away from Phoenix and is loaded with a variety of species. Clifford knows how to navigate the steep canyon walls to find the best fishing spots on the lake.

This hidden gem is one of the Salt River chain reservoirs sitting next to Roosevelt Lake. Apache Lake is known for its healthy population of multiple species of bass as well as Rainbow Trout, Catfish, and Carp. The drive is well worth the potential to pull a monster fish out of this lake!

Clifford will provide all the necessary equipment to catch the species of fish you are targeting that trip. You’ll need to bring appropriate clothing for the time of year that you’re fishing. Sun screen is highly recommended for any time of year. Be sure to pack plenty of fluids/drinks to stay hydrated out on the water and snacks to give you more energy for catching fish!
While you are welcome to bring your own rods, reels and tackle, Clifford does provide all of the necessary equipment needed to successfully target and catch the intended species of the trip. Clifford has all of the top-of-the-line equipment on his boat and the expertise to put clients on fish and keep their rod bent from fun, hard fighting fish in our pristine desert oasis reservoirs.
Arizona has a vast array of species of game fish in several desert reservoirs as well as rivers/streams ready to be caught. Clifford mainly targets largemouth and smallmouth bass in most of the larger reservoirs we have in Arizona. His favorite lakes are Roosevelt, Apache, Saguaro and Canyon (the Salt River chain lakes). Roosevelt Lake is his favorite and he has spent more time on that body of water than just about anyone. He is also an avid crappie angler and is no stranger to putting the massive 2 to 3 lbs world class crappie in the boat that several of our AZ waterways are famous for. Growing up and living on the Mogollon Rim, Clifford is well-familiar with fishing the streams, rivers and beautiful mountain lakes in northern AZ and loves fishing for all species in those waterways.
The best time of year to fish in AZ is when you have the time to go! One good thing about Arizona weather is that besides the summer, the weather is beautiful and perfect for fishing. Clifford competes in the Bassmaster Elite Tour that travels the country holding major events at several different lakes from mid-February through the end of August. During those times Clifford will be on tour and not in Arizona to do guided trips. Please check with Clifford for available dates to schedule a guided fishing trip.
