After drawing an AZ big game tag for elk or deer, reach out to Clifford to inquire about a guided trip. He will reach out and get more details about the tag that you drew and come up with a game plan for your hunt. Clifford will bring his own equipment/gear for the hunt (his own binoculars, camo, backpack, ect.) and you are expected to bring your own equipment & gear as well (binoculars, camo/clothes and boots, backpack, gun & ammo, knives, coolers, etc.). You’ll also need to bring your own food and drinks – camping/lodging situations will be discussed based on the hunt. Make sure you have plenty of clothing that is appropriate for hunting during the fall/winter. It's not uncommon to experience temperatures well below freezing with lots of snow during elk hunts in Arizona.
Clifford Pirch was born and raised in Payson, AZ and has spent his entire life chasing trophy Rocky Mountain bull elk. Countless days of boots on the ground and eyes glued to binoculars for hours at a time has paid off with many world class trophy bulls being harvested with the help of Clifford. He has guided many people on their bull elk hunts and put them on world class trophy bulls. Some of these bulls have scored well into the 400+ inch range. His experience, knowledge of the Mogollon Rim country, and dedication to finding the largest, mature trophy class bulls is second to none. Clifford has guided many “Boone and Crockett” and “Pope and Young” scoring elk and deer in his career as a guide – and he can put you on the bull or buck of your dreams!
Clifford will occasionally guide for antlerless elk and deer but prefers to guide for trophy bull elk. Clifford cares most about putting his clients on the biggest trophy class bull elk or buck that he can possibly find for them. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Hunting and harvesting healthy, mature trophy bull elk is his specialty and the proof is in his past clients’ successes.
Arizona has a lottery style draw system and you will need to apply for elk and/or deer tags on the Arizona Game and Fish website at www.azgfd.com. The regulations for elk and deer come out for that year at the beginning of the calendar year (for fall 2023 hunts apply Jan 2023). You’ll need to buy an AZ hunting license and apply for your desired tag in the desired units available. Once you have drawn a tag for an AZ bull elk or antlered deer tag, you’ll be able to book a guided trip with Clifford.
